Site access policy
Everyone entering DSB Shipyard at Al Jaddaf registers with Security before entering the controlled areas of the yard. Registration gives a DSB reference and a gate pass with a QR code.
Requirements
- A valid government-issued photo ID (Emirates ID, passport or driving licence) presented at the gate.
- A completed registration with a DSB reference, a named host or department, and the purpose of the visit.
- Personal protective equipment for the area visited: helmet, safety shoes and high-visibility vest; contractors also safety glasses, gloves and a valid permit to work.
- Compliance with the instructions of Security and the Yard Manager at all times.
Vehicles
Vehicles are registered with plate, type, driver and licence. Heavy plant, low-loaders and commercial vehicles need the Yard Manager's authorisation before entering the yard.
Contractors and subcontractors
Contractor companies register their company, vessel, personnel, licences, insurance and safety documents with Security before entry. The subcontractor work permit in the tariff applies per month per vessel. Night work after 19:00 and high-risk work need the Yard Manager's written approval; payment alone is not permission.
Vessels
No vessel leaves the yard, is launched or is loaded for transport without the written Departure Clearance issued by Reception after Accounts and the Managing Director have signed. Security does not accept verbal approvals from anyone. Any attempt is reported to the Yard Manager and Management immediately and recorded.
Not permitted
- Photography, video or drones in restricted zones without permission.
- Entry outside the registered purpose or destination; smoking; entering lifting or hot-work areas.
- Leaving the site without checking out at the gate.
